Remembering Pete

 In News

Today, my late husband, Pete Bossow, would have been 48 years old. But cancer stole this birthday, and many others.

Today, I reflect on the time we spent together – high school prom, college days at La Salle University, morning coffee in Sea Isle City, laughter with friends. Pete’s life was a life well-lived. His presence brought joy to many and peace and companionship to me.

Today, we miss him. Yet, we carry on his legacy with the support of family, friends and the For Pete’s Sake community.

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, a national day to celebrate kindness and philanthropy. Pete would have loved this idea and would have been first in line to give his time and money to causes he cared about – to people who need help!

We invite you to share Pete’s vision for helping others and play a part in this year’s #GivingTuesday.  You can donate in memory of Pete, in honor of another loved one facing cancer or in honor of the hundreds of people who will take a break from cancer with FPS this year. Help us continue to make love greater than cancer. Pete would smile!

We’re opening our 24 hour givathon early this year to help us reach our ambitious and attainable goal of $40,000! If made by 11/29/16, your gift will be matched by the Gene Haas Foundation and Haas Automation, Inc. To make a gift today, click here.

And keep an eye out for our #GivingTuesday emails tomorrow – if you decide to make a gift early, we ask that you share those emails with friends, family and on your social media pages so that we can increase our reach. Anyone who makes a gift between now and midnight will be entered to win a Dunkin’ Donuts giftcard! Take a coffee break with FPS 🙂

Sincerely,

Marci Schankweiler
