Our Backpack Buddies program is the perfect way for kids to help other kids. Started by Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary, this initiative focuses on kids who travel in our program with their ill parent. We provide the Backpack and you do the rest: stuff it with your favorite travel items (games, crayons, etc.) and then raise some Travel Fun Money to help pay for the fun things kids will do on the trip, from eating ice cream cones to having lunch with Mickey. You will be matched with a child traveling that is similar in age to you so it is unique and personal way to truly touch another’s life!
Also known as “tag days”, “denim days”, “casual day” or “wacky tacky” Days. Dress Down Days (DDD) are designated opportunities for students and/or employees to have a change in the dress code for a day in exchange of a charitable contribution. Ask for a set donation or minimum donation for the opportunity to take advantage of the dress down or theme day and you’ll find it’s an easy way to raise money for families facing cancer. Recommended Contribution for participants $5.00.
If your business is interested in participating in a Dress Down Day, please complete this Event Form. You’ll hear from our Community Outreach and Events Coordinator, Alisa, within 2 business days of form completion! Questions? E-mail Ellen@Takeabreakfromcancer.org.
Can you spare a few pennies and nickels? How about some dime and quarters? Before you know it, you’ll have a dollar! Watch your dollars add up and then be used by FPS to put smiles on lots of faces of moms and dads, big kids and little kids, sisters and brothers, friends and neighbors, as those touched by cancer get to take a respite vacation – a break, to live, love and laugh together.
