Jason and his stepdad

experienced new things!

“This respite showed me that living in the moment is a better way to live.”

Our Cancer Journey

Jason is 33 years old and was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. An independent young man, he had to stop working and move back home. It’s been an isolating time, compounded by the pandemic. But amazingly, he has used his free time to help other cancer patients! He began raising money to grant wishes for others that he meets on social media groups. Most recently, he granted a young woman, who is currently receiving chemotherapy, money for a wig. She was able to go to the salon of her dreams to make this wish come true.

Spreading happiness to others helps Jason keep a good attitude through his journey. Jason traveled to Woodloch Resort for his FPS respite experience with his stepfather that he refers to as his “best friend”. They do everything together – even twinning in this picture!

“It has been a rough five years for me and my family. Being able to get out of the house with my caregiver would remind us of the amazing things the world has to offer, and it would let us finally relax. My days are usually filled with the same routine that reminds me of my illness. A getaway filled with smiles, fresh air and fun activities will let us make memories that will last a lifetime!” – Jason
