Local Man Raises Almost $4,000 in Ride for Respite Across Pennsylvania

Kittanning, PA  – Earlier this month, Lee Hanyo of Kittanning, PA set sail on a solo, self-supported 400+ mile bike-packing ride across Pennsylvania on Route 6 over five days while raising money for For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS)!

Lee completed the journey on September 6, exceeding his fundraising goal and raising almost $4,000 through a gofundme page supporting FPS.  This effort will provide a complete respite experience at Woodloch Resort in Hawley, PA for a family facing cancer!

“The ride was challenging but very fun. I’m blown away at how generous the people I met along the way were as well as how generous the donors were for my fundraising efforts. Seeing all of the love and support roll in throughout my five days on the road kept me going and I’m grateful for the entire experience,” said Lee.

Lee’s grandfather battled cancer and passed away in 2008. He was one of the most importance people in Lee’s life, and Lee dedicates this ride to his memory. Lee posted updates on his social media accounts and gofundme page as he traveled and the FPS community cheered him on! Read an article in the Leader Times here!
