One year later, Steve shares an update about life and cancer.

Almost one year ago, we followed the Selcher family on their Travel Respite at Woodloch Resort as part of our Virtual Experience. We watched as the family played, laughed, loved and surrounded their mom with comfort during her challenging cancer battle.
After a 14 month battle with pancreatic cancer, Erin Selcher passed away. Her obituary was a testament to her beautiful life and family.
In early March 2022, Erin’s husband, Steve, joined us at our Gala in Philadelphia. He shared with us that you don’t realize you’re running out of time…until you are running out of time. Respite, provided by the For Pete’s Sake Community, gives families facing cancer precious time together.
Steve is a witness to the impact respite can have on the cancer journey – not just for the patient but for the entire family unit – and on that evening, he challenged our Gala guests to give generously so that For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation can continue our mission.
We hope you’ll take a moment to watch his short speech and send love to Steve and all the other families impacted by cancer. Thank you for being a part of the For Pete’s Sake Community!
We miss you, Erin!
