Make the FPS Mission Possible in September
Tehmina is 48 years old with ovarian cancer. When Tehmina was diagnosed in July of 2021, her life was turned upside down.
She began chemotherapy immediately and experienced severe side effects, forcing her to leave her job. In October, Tehmina learned the cancer had metastasized to her bones. She remains positive and tries to stay strong for her family, but she worries about the future for her daughters and husband.
Tehmina’s oncology team at Capital Health Cancer Center in Pennington, NJ nominated her for respite, so she can focus on her family for a week. Her nominator believes they will benefit from spending time with other FPS families while on respite – knowing that you are not on this cancer journey alone can make all the difference! Her nominator, Emily, knows this firsthand as many years ago, she experienced an FPS Respite, too, as a caregiver to her husband!
Tehmina shared this respite is providing something no medical treatment can – a feeling of HOPE! She is excited for her family to meet others in a similar situation and to join the greater FPS community.
