Network, volunteer and learn the impact of philanthropy in changing lives!
Our Founder, Pete Bossow, was 30 years old when he died of cancer and started FPS. He saw other young people struggling with advanced stage disease and wanted to make the journey easier on them with the gift of respite. Let’s live like Pete and help move our mission forward for young families.
Join our Society and engage with young professionals, cancer ambassadors and emerging leaders (ages 20 to 35) through social, networking and fundraising events. Membership is easy and requires only your commitment of $10 per month to FPS. Your generosity is a restricted gift that will go directly to help a family experience respite each month!

George Downey, an FPS Community Member, is stepping into the ring with Haymakers for Hope at the Liberty Bell Brawl III in Philadelphia in support of For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation. George has set an impressive goal of fundraising $7,500- which will help send an entire family on FPS Respite!
“I’m stepping into the ring to honor the strength and resilience of those battling cancer and to make a difference in their fight. The money I raise will be benefitting For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation. This cause is deeply personal to me because I’ve seen how cancer has affected my family and friends, and I’ve seen the power that a true “break from cancer” can provide.
Through Haymakers for Hope, I have the opportunity to push myself towards a new challenge while raising funds for families affected by cancer treatments to spend time creating memories, away from the constant flow of hospital visits. This fight isn’t just for me—it’s for everyone who has faced this disease head-on with courage. Together, we can punch out cancer!”

Join the FPS Young Friends Society in Striding for Respite at the For Pete’s Sake Walk at Citizen’s Bank Park! Check out our team here.
You will travel three laps around the concourse, meet the beloved Philly Phanatic, enjoy yummy treats, and snap fun photos in the dugout! There will be a variety of fun activities for everyone to enjoy both before and during the Walk!
Get ready for an evening filled with excitement, community spirit, and baseball as the Philadelphia Phillies take on the Atlanta Braves!
The fun kicks off at 4 PM with a lively community tailgate in Lot M, featuring light fare and non-alcoholic drinks which is the perfect way to connect with fellow FPS supporters and build up game-day energy. Then, we will head into the stadium for a special pre-game moment as we cheer on our top individual Walk fundraiser, who will take the mound for the ceremonial first pitch! Our Young Professionals Board Leadership Council assists in the planning and decision process for all Society Activities, with opportunities to plan social and fundraising events, as well as volunteer at signature events and FPS Family Engagement Activities.
