FPS Traveler Celebrates 50th Birthday by Helping Others Take a Break from Cancer!

 In News

Happy Birthday to FPS Traveler, Stephen Mercatili! He celebrated his 50th birthday with gratitude in his heart, and in lieu of birthday presents, he invited his friends and family to make a lasting impact on the FPS mission and donate in his honor.

He was able to raise almost $8,000 through the generous support of his community! His birthday will make a lasting impact on dozens of patients, caregivers and their kids as they take a break from cancer.

Stephen traveled to the FPS respite home in Davenport, Florida with his family in June 2017. On his post-respite evaluation, his wife shared with us, “Seeing the joy on our children’s faces, and having them be treated so well was all we could ask for. Steve walked every bit of the Florida amusement parks with us, with a smile on his face. That made me happy. When Steve is feeling well, I am feeling and doing ok, too. Spending this week on respite together made our family even stronger and more determined.”

As Stephen’s mom, I feel so much joy and appreciation o all who attended his party and to those who contributed to his fund raiser. I also am in awe at your wonderful organization for all you do for adult cancer patients. Many more years of success . I also want to pay tribute to Peggy. She has been an inspiration to all of us in her care and love for Stephen and their children. Stephen’s Mom
